Academies of the Antelope Valley (AAV)

is a public charter school established by the Antelope Valley Union High School District, designed to offer students alternative educational settings focusing on S.T.E.M (Science, Technology, Math & Engineering) and virtual (online based) learning. AAV consists of two distinct academies; SOAR Prep Academy and the Virtual Academy, both designed to meet the learning needs of the 21st century student. Both academies are scheduled to begin accepting applications for the 2013-14 school year beginning in February 2013.

SOARSOAR Prep Academy

  • SOAR Preparatory Academy 7th & 8th Grade– Potential Priority Admission to:
SOAR Early College High School
STEM Academies at AVUHSD Comprehensive High Schools
 
  • Rigorous, College-Preparatory Courses taught by Highly Qualified Teachers (HQT)

  •  Virtual/Online Education for 7th – 12th Grade
  •  Rigorous, Standards-Based, College-Preparatory Courses
  •  Supports Home Schooling
  •  Many available elective classes, including career technical classes.
  •  Students may be part time or full-time virtual students (partial schedule at AVUHSD school sites)
  •  Regional resource centers to facilitate student-teacher interaction, tutoring, and access to computer and other labs.

Virtual Academy


For information regarding enrolling in the Virtual Academy for the 2013-14 school year, be sure to attend one of the scheduled information sessions below:

  • Tuesday, February 19, 2013-6:15pm to 7:15pm
  • Wednesday, March 13, 2013-6:15pm to 7:15pm
  • Wednesday, April 24, 2013-6:15pm to 7:15pm
  • Wednesday, May 15, 2013-6:15pm to 7:15pm

All sessions to be help at the Palmdale Virtual Academy Resource Center, PCC room 1156 E. Ave S, Palmdale, CA 93550
